About A Walk to Remember
The Campbell River Hospice Society invites you to join our upcoming fundraiser, Walk to Remember held on Saturday, June 8th at 11 am to 2:30 pm, in Hospice’s Serenity Garden.
Join attendees in collecting pledges to participate in walking a 3km loop, returning to the Hospice Care Centre. To follow there will be a meaningful memorial ceremony with Leslie Haynes-Hodgins, M.S.W., R.S.W., Hospice’s Lead Clinical Counsellor, along with a beautiful butterfly release. We invite you to release an ethically sourced Painted Lady butterfly in memory of your loved ones, signifying letting go and the continuation of life after loss.
A Walk to Remember is an event for our community to heal and share awareness of grief and loss. Hospice touches everyone at some point in their lives and becomes such a vital resource in a person’s journey through loss and end-of-life.
As we continue to expand and adapt our services based on the community’s needs, we rely heavily on fundraising and community donors to support our programs. Your dedication to A Walk to Remember directly assists us in providing vital and specialized care to Campbell River and surrounding areas.

How Your Donations Help
This year the focus at Hospice is addressing the significant amount of grief associated with suicides, sudden death and drug toxicity in our community. The overwhelming grief and suffering that profoundly impacts survivors of suicide can be too much for some to endure, creating an ongoing cycle of deterioration and other losses in the family unit.
The Campbell River Hospice Society is dedicated to helping prevent further devastation by equipping families with tools, peer support and professional clinical counselling to better manage their pain in a way that isn't harmful to themselves or their loved ones. Along with end-of-life services, Hospice offers vital services to our community at no cost. All funds raised at A Walk to Remember stay in Campbell River and directly support our programs.
