Advance Care Planning

Who would speak for you if you couldn’t speak for yourself?

Advanced Care Planning

  • Important subject matter for any adult at any age  
  • Allows you to have a say in the health care you will receive if you are too sick to speak for yourself
  • A way to reflect upon your values, beliefs and wishes so that you can make your own health care decisions
  • Empowers loved ones to act on your behalf when needed by discussing and documenting your wishes in advance

This class is usually taught in two parts:

Session ONE:   “ACP 101”

This session covers the fine details of Advanced Care Planning. If you can only attend 1 session, this is the one you want!

Session TWO:   “ACP Q&A”

This a review of ACP 101 and an opportunity to address any questions that may have come up after the first session.

Registration is REQUIRED

Chaplain Services

As our hospice society grows, we are constantly assessing the types of programs and services we can offer to meet the needs of the community we serve. We have become increasingly aware of the value of providing non-denominational spiritual care and comfort to our clients and their families. We are delighted to have Irwin Harder in the role of Hospice Chaplain at CRHS. Irwin is part of the interdisciplinary team and is dedicated to reaching across any faith group boundaries and differences to make connections reflecting individual choice.

Irwin offers much experience, including a Bachelor of Religious Education and Bachelor of Church Music from Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta. He has over 20 years of experience at Camp Homewood in various capacities, including camp and facilities management and leadership.   Irwin can be reached through the centre 250-286-1121 or directly by email to:
